Volunteers
Volunteers are a vital part of the success
at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts. Whether your
passion is for ushering and greeting the public, education
and community outreach or administrative support, your energy
and time is needed. Following is a list of the different
volunteer activities:
Event Usher
Provides various ushering duties during Broadway Center sponsored
shows and rental events. Usher are trained during orientation sessions scheduled during the season. This position requires some stair climbing and standing. Hours are generally evenings and weekends, although some events may be during weekdays. We ask for a minimum of 32 hours each season.
Tour Guide
Provides tours of the theaters to various groups. After individual
training, guides are called based on the days and times they
are available.
Mailings
Assists in putting out bulk mailings following specific instructions.
Various mailings are sent throughout the season.
Administrative Support
Provides a variety of assistance in the administrative office,
including reception, filing, typing, or other projects as
needed. Volunteers are called on an as needed basis depending
on availability. Hours are weekdays between 8:30am and 5:30pm.
Special Projects
Provides assistance with special projects on an as-needed
basis. Examples would be staffing a table at Tacoma's Farmers
Market on Thursdays, selling Broadway Center merchandise during
sponsored shows, assisting with hospitality at benefits or
backstage events, etc. The variety and frequency of
projects depends on the needs of the Broadway Center.
