Tony Bennett

Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Pantages Theater

Tickets: $89, $129, $189, $249*
The best is surely yet to come as the incomparable Tony Bennett takes Tacoma’s stage. The legendary 17-time Grammy Award winner will perform songs from his vast repertoire of American classics and pop standards after six decades at the top of the charts.

An artist who bridges the generation gap like no other, Bennett reached new heights of success with his platinum-selling "MTV Unplugged" album, featuring guests Elvis Costello and k.d. lang lending a hand on his classics, "It Had to Be You" and "Fly Me to the Moon." His follow-up album, "Duets: An American Classic," paired Bennett with Bono, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, The Dixie Chicks and other contemporary performers, introducing new arrangements and new audiences to his decades-old songbook.

At 86, Tony Bennett is clearly not the retiring type. With more than 50 million records sold worldwide and a universal appeal that remains undiminished, he is one of a handful of artists who has had albums chart in every decade from the 1950s into the new millennium. A singer’s singer and a Kennedy Center honoree, he is also an international treasure who was granted a Citizen of the World award by the United Nations, demonstrating the scope of his accomplishments. Don’t miss this chance to see an unmatched musical living legend and consummate performer in A Concert to Benefit Arts Education, one night only.

Tony Bennett will be bringing Antonia Bennett as support.
