Broadway Center Announces Summer Concert Series:

The Monkees 45th Anniversary Tour,

Grammy Award Winner Steel Pulse

And iCarly Star Miranda Cosgrove

Tacoma, WA -The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts announces a new Summer Concert Series at the Pantages Theater: The Monkees 45th Anniversary Tour on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.; Grammy Award Winner Steel Pulse on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.; and singer and "iCarly" star Miranda Cosgrove: Dancing Crazy Tour on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

45 years after their groundbreaking show and hit singles first took television and record players by storm, the original Monkees members Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork have announced a new tour to dazzle five decades' worth of fans.  This tour marks the first live performances by the band in a full decade and will draw yet another generation of fans to their one-of-a-kind mix of music and comedy. The Monkees tickets are $69, $79, $89, $175. The $175 tickets include a meet and greet reception with the artists and are sold out.

Grammy Award Winner Steel Pulse is one of Britain's greatest reggae bands. They began in 1975 playing authentic roots reggae with touches of jazz and Latin music, and earned a substantial audience worldwide. The first Steel Pulse single 'Ku Klux Klan' (a call for resistance against forces of racism) was released in 1978. Their debut album 'Handsworth Revolution' was released to enormous critical acclaim and is still today regarded by many critics as a landmark and a high point of British reggae. Steel Pulse has supported Bob Marley & The Wailers and were a crucial part of the punky reggae party Bob Marley sang about as they aligned themselves with the punk movement and played several Rock Against Racism shows.  By the late '80s, Steel Pulse won a Grammy.  Today, they return to their tough-minded, rootsy sound and have added touches of dancehall and hip-hop as well. Steel Pulse tickets are $29, $39 and $49.  Before the show, Broadway Center Members of $100 or more are invited to a free barbeque.

Miranda Cosgrove is one of Hollywood's hottest young stars.  She can be seen on "iCarly", Nickelodeon's highest rated live-action show.  Cosgrove was recently nominated for the following KIDS CHOICE AWARDS:  USA/Favorite Show in 2008 and 2009 and Favorite TV Actress in 2009; UK/Favorite Female TV Star; Germany/Favorite Actor and Favorite TV Programme (winner); Italy/Best International New Actress (winner).  The singer/actress released her debut LP, Sparks Fly, in 2010. The follow-up, High Maintenance, is an EP and was released in March 2011. The single from High Maintenance is "Dancing Crazy," which was written by song-writing gurus Avril Lavigne and Max Martin. It also features a duet with Weezer frontman, Rivers Cuomo.  Miranda Cosgrove tickets are $55, $65, $75 and $125.
