2012/13 Season

Explore the many facets of the feminine mystique in opera.

With our first production, we take a light-hearted look at the young, innocent side of women in Mozart's sublime comic masterpiece, Cosi fan tutte. Then with our second production, we get to experience the seductive power of a quintessential femme fatale in Sir Peter Brook's intense adaptation of the Carmen story in La tragédie de Carmen. And finally, we end our season by delving into the heartbreakingly poignant side of the ladies with Giuseppe Verdi's unforgettable operatic masterpiece, La Traviata – one of the most moving stories ever set to music.

And of course, along with the women, come the flawed men that are at the root of all their trials, tribulations and even death.
