This year The Christmas Revels features music, dance and folklore from old Bavaria. Sankt Nikolaus and his sometimes alarming, always unpredictable helper Knecht Rupprecht join the large Revels cast in their jolly annual assignment to drive the dark away. This high-spirited concoction of folk tradition and high art — from hilarious street theater to glorious chorale works — not only delights but also offers a glimpse of some of the deep roots of modern American Christmas celebrations. The Christmas Revels is a joyous, timeless celebration for all ages. Bring family and friends. Welcome Yule!

The Christmas Revels revives the ancient connection between community and the arts, between celebration and the seasons as we create a celebrating village that encompasses the whole theater. The Christmas Revels involves 60 to 90 performers on-stage, the heart of which is a large chorus of adults and children (auditioned from the community) to which we add professional actors, storytellers, singers, dancers and instrumentalists. Each show is professionally produced, costumed and supported by professional instrumentalists.
