El Día de los Muertos Immersion

Immerse yourself in Latin Culture in a single day intensive class focused on cultural exploration and applied practice in the Mexican traditions of El Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) celebrations. To many of us it may seem strange to celebrate the loss of loved ones, but for Latin cultures, celebration and death are intimately entwined. They believe that one day each year, the souls of the dead will return to earth to eat, drink, and be merry just as they had done in life. Students will have a chance to ask questions about this tradition and explore ways of using the performing arts to celebrate those who have come before us.
