Look Toward the Future
On behalf of the Tacoma Philharmonic, we are honored to have served as South Sound’s Premier Classical Music presenter over the past 75 years. As we look toward the future, it is with great pleasure we announce that we’ve joined forces with the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts.
The current non-profit structure of the Tacoma Philharmonic will, as of May 1, 2012, be folded into the non-profit structure of the Broadway Center. Nonetheless, our deep connection to this community and commitment to present Classical Music and Education will live on through the Tacoma Philharmonic Endowment Fund held in trust by the Broadway Center. This fund will underwrite approximately 30% of all future activities. All donations made to the Tacoma Philharmonic Endowment Fund will support these programs.
Future programs will include, four annual concerts, new educational classical music services at K-12 campuses, and The Beatrice Herrmann Young Artist Competition. The competition, named in honor of the Tacoma Philharmonic’s long-time benefactor, will continue to promote excellence in musical performance, encourage young musicians in their pursuit of high artistic standards, and to foster a love for the performing arts in the community and throughout the Puget Sound.
Please sign up to receive Broadway Center e-news to stay connected to world class performances offered in the upcoming season.
We look forward to see you again soon!
